Shannon Jares is a Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in psychiatric mental health. She has worked in healthcare in the Treasure Valley for over 20 years. She completed her graduate education at Walden University. Shannon has worked predominantly in outpatient mental health treating patients across the lifespan. She developed and piloted a program for outpatient intranasal ketamine for treatment resistant depression and brings this expertise with her to Meridian Advanced Psychiatry.

Her professional interests include the use of ketamine to help patients achieve their best life, complementing traditional mental health care with alternative therapies such as supplements and exercise, and ADHD and mood disorders in children and adults. She strives to create a safe environment conducive to health maintenance and mental healing. She believes each patient has an individualized story and deserves individualized care.

Personally, Shannon enjoys spending time camping, hiking, and biking with her family. She is married and has two daughters and two silly bulldogs.
